Supplements:
A necessity in today's environment

Looking for a quick and simple way to improve your health? Supplements are the answer.

In the Time Magazine cover story or April 6, 1992 it was said, "Nutrients: They may be much more important than doctors thought in warding off cancer, heart disease, and the ravages of aging - and no, you may not be getting enough of these crucial elements in your diet". It seems many doctors now are thinking in this direction. Today, supplementation is necessary.

In America, Normal does not mean healthy. People think the following is normal:
Irritability, fatigue, headaches, depression, sinus trouble, insomnia, unhealthy hair, skin or nails, allergies, bleeding gums, muscle cramping, digestive disorders, slow healing, just to name a few. What is the "normal fix" for these symptoms? Do we have a deficiency of cough medicine, pain-killers, sedatives, laxatives, inhalers, antibiotics, or Anti-inflammatory medicines?

We probably don't lack a lot of these.

Scientific studies have proven that good diets and generous nutrient intakes can help optimize health and protect against serious diseases, including heart disease, osteoporosis, cancer and even some birth defects.

Along with taking supplements we can improve our diet and our health by using organic foods and organic products. You can learn more about organics in the book The Ultimate Organic Lifestyle.

A good diet is the foundation for better health, but obviously even the most knowledgeable consumers don’t always eat the way they should. And some nutrients, like vitamin E, are beneficial in amounts far beyond the levels that can be obtained even in a good diet.

With urbanization in America, our foods became less nutritious. Foods are altered with additives to enhance shelf life, color, texture, and taste. Many of these additives do not nourish cells and are in fact detrimental to health.

This is why we need to supplement our diet. Some great information about your health and your diet can be found here at Diet-Health

With this page I am creating a list of the different supplements that are available. Some supplements are more necessary than others and some are just the latest fad or miracle pill to hit the market.

As with everything available to us in a marketplace, not everything is created equal. Here are a few things to think about before purchasing supplements for you and your family. Is the vitamin or supplement natural or synthetic? What is its bioavailability? (Can your body absorb the supplement?) Was it grown organically? Was it checked for any of the over 400 pesticides that are used today? Was there any research done to produce a supplement that is balanced and will enhance what nature has intended for our bodies?

These are just a few things to think about. I know of a company that does all this and more. If you would like more information on a company that does this kind of research see my Why Shaklee page or please fill out our request for information form for a quick response about any of the supplements listed above.

I also have more information an a large variety of vitamins, minerals and other supplements that I just haven't had the time to put online yet. Please ask if you have questions on any type of supplementation. I will be more than happy to send you information.
